Encounter experience

Encounter services are  arranged every other Sunday at 6.30 in
the St Mary’s Church. You will have the opportunity to learn about God, ask
questions and get questions answered. You will also have the opportunity to
meet new people and have relaxing chats over a cup of tea and usually a good
spread of food. We have our own worship band that play contemporary worship music and
we would like to invite anyone who has a gift in playing an instrument, or singing, to
get in touch with Ayesha, who heads up the Worship at Encounter. Ayesha’s phone
number is 07855 055702

The Encounter team has focused the service themes from
people’s questions that were posted in December 2012. You can find a flyer in
the entrance to St Mary’s Church or check out the noticeboard for more details.

” Big Youthie” are making plans to  head off to Soul Survivor 2013 on August 13th – 18th
at the  Bath & West Showground. We will be taking a new group of
enthusiastic young people as well as two of our new volunteers Mark Bunger and
Kevin Klumpje Wentink and 3 of our previous youth group members Stacey Powell,
Kay Broom and Joe Lacey who are attending as young leaders. This will be a new
experience for everyone going, as this is a new group of young people and new
leaders.

Please begin to pray that we will have a  brilliant, positive time there.

Generous Local Donation

This month SMYP was given a generous donation by a local group, who wish to remain anonymous. It is generosity of this kind that helps us so very much, as we continually strive to” balance our books” and help  our great youth worker team continue their many activities, both within the school environment, youth clubs and other associated activities.

We are nearly at the end of a very busy and exciting year and would like to thank those who support us so much by their generous donations or  time given supporting our activities. We look forward to another new year of hard fundraising , productive youth work and fun activities.

Community Action in Nash was a weekend away for SMYP where we were able to help a local farm charity who work with inner city children.

We painted the sleeping huts (Wigwams) and took down fences and helped rebuild the Donkey shelters.
